Contractor who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7, had traveled all over the world and had a taste of many cultures as a child. Her education was at the boarding school of London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Then, the family moved to London to Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a successful academic throughout her time in Toronto in addition to her training as a ballerina. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school in which she studied more than just dance but also drama. Following a year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the show Pericles at the world-class and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the role of lead. After two weeks of performances, she got praise from the audience. The production was recognized as the best production by Canadian reviewers. Contractor accepted the invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. Only eight men selected as well as four females get accepted to a course of 20 weeks of classical theater.
