Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name of her parents. Lennox received a scholarship to study at the London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. She survived on a student salary and part-time work in order to make ends meet. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents weren't as good as those of those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other options she could pursue. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. She quit the group before they appeared as a guest on I.T.V's talents show New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980, she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop group. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. It was released in 1993. In both commercial terms and critically the album was a massive achievement.
